About This Programme

This degree equips students with a theoretical and empirical understanding of how economies function. Key areas include microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade, econometrics, public finance, and economic development. Students learn to conduct economic research, evaluate policy options, and apply statistical tools to real-world economic challenges affecting Zambia, Africa, and the rest of the world. The program prepares graduates for positions in economic research organizations, central banks, government ministries, NGOs, financial institutions, and regional economic bodies such as COMESA, SADC, and the African Union.
